Helpful tips to improve a rating outcome
EPC surveys are purely evidence based outcomes - surveyors can only base the outcome on evidence available on the day of the survey and cannot make any assumptions.
Some quick wins before the surveyor arrives................................
Light bulbs
Ensure all fixed light fittings i.e. not lamps, have low energy - LED bulbs fitted.

Heating
Establishing the exact model of a boiler is essential. Have paperwork detailing the type and model of boiler or heat pumps available.

Cavity wall insulation
Paperwork detailing an insulation date is the easiest way to confirm it exists. Cavity surveys are an option at an extra charge.

Loft insulation
Insulation can be fitted relatively easily if none or low levels exists. If it exists under boards - paperwork confirming dates fitted etc are essential.

Hot water tank
If not a modern tank fitted with foam insulation make sure the tank has an insulation jacket.

Glazing
The age double/triple glazing was manufactured and fitted can have an impact on an EPC rating. Paperwork will help with the survey assessment.
